Men's Volleyball Falls to No. 6 Hawai'i

SAN DIEGO - The San Diego State men's volleyball team lost its sixth match of the season on February 24th to No. 6 Hawai'i 3-2, (4-15, 5-15, 15-10, 15-13, 14-16). The loss drops the Aztecs' record to 1-6, (1-6 in the MPSF) and improves the Rainbow Warriors' record to 8-4, (4-3 in the MPSF).

The Rainbow Warriors were led by sophomores Brenton Davis (OH) and Tory Tukuafu (MB). Davis had a team-high 26 kills on 48 attempts (.313). Tukuafu recorded 18 kills, 14 digs and four block assists.

San Diego State saw promising play from senior middle blocker Tom Hunter and junior outside hitter Hans Stolfus taking Hawai'i to a close-call fifth game. Hunter recorded a match-high 28 kills on 57 attempts (.333) and nine total blocks. Stolfus registered a team-high 13 digs and added 19 kills with two service aces.

The Aztecs play the Rainbow Warriors again on February 26th at 7:00 p.m. in Special Events Arena to end the Hawai'i road trip. The Red and Black have their next homestand when they take on their seventh top-10 opponent in eight matches against No. 3 Lewis University on March 7th at 7:00 p.m. in Peterson Gym.
