RENO, Nev. (AP) - John Burrell scored 22 points as Nevada defeated San Diego State 94-75 Wednesday night for its second win over the Aztecs this season.
Derrick Anderson added 19 points and 12 assists for Nevada (2-3), which also had beaten the Aztecs 76-71 in overtime Nov. 14 in San Diego. Tommy Zapata contributed 11 points and Dimitrios Marmarinos 10 as the Wolf Pack ended a three-game losing streak.
Marcelo Correa had 13 points and Donte Wilson and Jeffrey Berokoff 11 each for San Diego State (1-7), which has not defeated an NCAA Division I opponent this season. The Aztecs were outrebounded 44-27 and had only two offensive rebounds to Nevada's 15.
Nevada put the game away with an 11-0 run early in the second half, giving the Wolf Pack a 61-39 lead with 15:35 left. Burrell had four points during the run, two on a sequence that he began by blocking a shot and ended with a breakaway dunk.
The Wolf Pack's biggest lead was 75-51 with 8:10 remaining.
Leading 34-32, Nevada held San Diego State without a field goal during the final 3:40 of the first half to take a 45-35 lead at halftime.
Nevada's 19-point margin of victory was its largest since it beat Cal State Stanislaus 102-67 last Dec. 11.
