HONOLULU (AP) - Casey Cartwright scored 22 points, including 15 from 3-point range, to lead Hawaii to an 87-67 victory over San Diego State on Saturday night.
Hawaii (4-13, 1-4 Western Athletic Conference) took the lead on Mike Robinson's 3-pointer at the 12:13 mark of the first half and never trailed the rest of the way.
San Diego State (2-15, 0-5) was led by Vince Okotie's 17 points. Teammate Dante Wilson added 16.
The Aztecs had trouble handling the ball, turning it over 23 times.
Hawaii had its biggest lead of the game, 64-43, on a 5-footer by Philipp Czernin with 12:22 left.
San Diego State came back with a 9-0 run, with Okotie contributing seven points, to cut the lead to 12 points with 9:35 to go.
Marquette Alexander had 16 points and nine rebounds for Hawaii before he was ejected for throwing an elbow with 8:16 remaining on the clock. Robinson finished with 11 points and six rebounds.
