SAN DIEGO - Aaron Harang scattered 10 hits in a complete-game performance, leadingSan Diego State (19-20, 6-8 WAC) to a 7-2 Western Athletic Conference win over New Mexico(20-20-1, 8-9 WAC) Saturday night at Tony Gwynn Stadium.
The Aztecs scored the first run of the game in the second inning courtesy of a David Youngbalk. Matt Ricardy added an RBI single and Chris Dunwell hit a sacrifice fly in the inning as well.
SDSU expanded their lead to 6-0 in the sixth inning on an RBI triple by Tyler Echelbarger, double by Robert Womack and a single by Ricardy.
Harang (4-3), a junior right-hander, went the distance for the first timeas an Aztec to pick up the victory. Along the way he struck out a career-high 13 batters while allowing just two earned runs.
Chris Armstrong had a game-high three hits for the Lobos, while Billy Montgomery, Chad Chop, Echelbarger, Womack, and Ricardy had two hits apiece for SDSU.
