Baseball Falls to USC

SAN DIEGO - Five USC pitchers limited San Diego State to just three hits as the Trojans defeated the Aztecs, 13-0, in Los Angles Tuesday evening. The loss dropped SDSUs record to 15-18 while USC improved its season mark to 17-16.

Freshman Marcos Mendoza made his first start on the mound for the Aztecs and gave up seven runs over the first two innings. Mendoza (0-1) suffered the loss While USCs Rik Currier (3-4) picked up the win after throwing the first five innings.

Carlo Cota, Brandon Rogers and Edgar Gonzales had singles for San Diego State, which had only one runner advance as far as third base.

The loss concluded a string of seven straight road games for the Aztecs who went 1-6 during that span. They return home on Thursday, April 1, to take on Hawaii-Hilo at 7:00 p.m. in the first game of a three-game series.

The Hilo-SDSU series was originally slated for four contests, but the game scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Friday (April 2) has been canceled.
