SAN DIEGO - San Diego State opened a five game homestandon Tuesday night by dropping a 15-7 decision to Cal State Fullertonat Tony Gywnn Stadium.
The loss dropped SDSU to 9-9 on the season while the Titans, ranked17th in the nation, improved to 11-5.
Shortstop Chad Olszanski went 2-for-4 with a pair of doublesand three RBI to lead the Titans' offensive attack. First baseman ChrisBeck had three RBI for CSUF as well.
Sophomore center fielder Robert Womack, who has been red-hot, led theAztec charge, going 3-for-5 with a double, triple, home run and twoRBI while scoring twice.
The Titans took a 14-0 lead into the bottom of the eighth, but SDSUrallied for six runs, highlighted by junior third baseman Matt Ricardy'stwo-out, two-run single.
Junior RHP Jeremy Cook (2-4) started and took the loss. He went fourinnings, allowing nine runs (two earned) on seven hits and three walkswhile striking out four.
San Diego State hosts, 1998 College World Series participant, LongBeach State Wednesday.
