Baseball Falls to Fresno State, 11-2

SAN DIEGO - Tom Graham scattered nine hits in a complete-gameperformance, leading Fresno State (26-25, 8-11 WAC) to an 11-2Western Athletic Conference win over SDSU (22-24, 9-10 WAC) Fridaynight at Tony Gwynn Stadium.

Fresno State wasted little time getting on the board as it put up threeruns in the top of the first inning. With one out, second baseman TomCreighton singled, moved up to third on a single by leftfielder AnthonyAcevedo. Both runners scored on Nick Garcia's single to right field thatscooted past Aztec rightfielder Paul Lockhart and allowed Garcia toadvance to third. The Bulldogs' third baseman scored on the next playwhen first baseman Brandon Gemoll grounded out to first.

The Bulldogs added three more runs in the second. Centerfielder Tony Guzman started the inning off with a walk and moved up to second on a single my catcher Brad Harper. Shortstop Oscar Lopez followed Harper with a sacrifice bunt that Aztec third baseman John Pashales threw away, allowing Guzman to score and Lopez to advance to second base.

After rightfielder Joe Gerber flied out, Creighton hit a sharp grounder to SDSU shortstop Edgar Gonzalez who cut down Harper at the plate. A walk to Acevedo loaded the bases for Garcia who singled to score two runs. Garcia was 5-for-5 with five RBI and two runs scored.

Graham (7-5) went the distance for the fifth time this season to pick upthe victory. Along the way he struck out six while allowing just two earne runs.

Matt Ricardy had a team-high two hits for the Aztecs.
