SAN DIEGO - San Diego States two-game trip to Kansas got off to a rocky start as the Aztecs were defeated by Wichita State, 13-3, Tuesday evening. The loss evened SDSUs season record at 22-22 while the 10th-ranked Shockers improved to 36-8.

Wichita State jumped on the Aztecs early, scoring seven runs in the first two innings off starter Jeremy Cook. The Shockers added two more in the fourth before San Diego State responded with a pair of runs in the fifth. Tyler Echelbargers fielders choice scored Chris Dunwell, who had led off the inning with a double. That was followed by Paul Lockharts 10th home run of the season. SDSU got its final run in the seventh on doubles by Dunwell and Echelbarger.

The Aztecs conclude this short road trip with another single game against the Shockers on Wednesday, April 21, at 7:00 p.m. (CDT). SDSU returns to Tony Gwynn Stadium on Friday to begin a three-game WAC series with Fresno State.
