SAN DIEGO -

San Diego State softball improved to 6-1 in Western Athletic Conference play this afternoon as it defeated the University of Tulsa, 1-0, on the SDSU Softball Field. The game was originally scheduled to be played at 1:00 p..m. today, but was delayed until 3:00 p.m. so the field could dry after yesterday's rainout.

SDSU (13-15 overall) was outhit in the contest (6-2) by the Golden Hurricane (13-24, 2-4 WAC), but still managed to win its sixth straight home game of the season. The only run of the game came in the bottom of the second inning after Aztecs freshman Kellie Labor singled and senior first baseman Erryn Gutjahr scored on a errant throw by the Tulsa third baseman. Gutjahr had singled to lead off the second inning to keep her eight-game hitting streak alive. The one run was enough for SDSU as sophomore pitcher Sandra Durazo pitched a six hit , eight strikeout, complete game for her 10th win of the year.

The Aztecs close out the weekend series with a doubleheader against Tulsa beginning at 10:00 a.m.
