SAN DIEGO - The San Diego State men's volleyball team was defeated by the Trojans of USC on Wednesday, 3-1 (5-15, 17-15, 5-15, 8-15). The loss drops the Aztecs' record to 2-16 (2-15 in the MPSF). With the victory, USC improves their overall record to 20-10 (9-7 in the MPSF). The Trojans were led by freshman outside hitter Brook Billings and sophomore outside hitter Eli Fairfield. Billings recorded 22 kills on 36 attempts (.417), six digs and two block assists. Fairfield ended the night with a match-high 24 kills and a team-high seven digs. In the losing effort, the Aztecs were led by senior middle blocker Tom Hunter and sophomore middle blocker John Mills. Hunter had team-highs in kills (22) and hitting percentage (.421), while also adding seven digs and seven block assists. Mills finished with 11 kills on 23 attempts (.348) and seven total blocks.
