Aztecs Fall To UCSB In Tough Loss

SAN DIEGO - The San Diego State men's volleyball team was defeated by UCSB on April 3, 3-2 (15-12, 15-13, 12-15, 10-15, 10-15). It looked as if the Aztecs had won their second-straight match, but the Gauchos fought back to take the win. UCSB was led by junior outside hitter Kevin Collins who recorded a match-high 31 kills on 59 attempts (.407), six digs and eight total blocks. The loss drops the Aztecs' record to 2-15 (2-14 in the MPSF). The Red and Black were led by senior middle blocker Tom Hunter and sophomore outside hitter Nick Marbach. Hunter had team-highs in kills (26) and total blocks (8), while also adding nine digs. Marbach registered 23 kills on 36 attempts (.389), eight digs and one block assist.

The Aztecs take on the Trojans of USC on Wednesday, April 7 at 7:00 p.m. in Peterson Gym.
