SAN DIEGO - The San Diego State men's volleyball team was defeated by No. 15 Stanford tonight at Peterson Gym, 3-1 (14-16, 10-15, 16-14, 12-15). The loss drops the Aztecs' record to 1-12 (1-11 in the MPSF).
Stanford (7-8, 5-8 MPSF) was led by senior outside hitter Patrick Klein who recorded a match-high 43 kills, hit .423 and added eight digs.
The Aztecs fought hard throughout the entire match losing only by two and three points in each game. SDSU was led by seniors Tom Hunter (MB) and Brian Corso (OH). Hunter had team-highs in kills (27), digs (11) and total blocks (8). Hunter continues to lead the Aztecs in kills (231), hitting percentage (.291) and total blocks (69). Corso registered 24 kills on 48 attempts (.313), 10 digs and two block assists.
The Red and Black travel to Stockton to take on University of the Pacific on March 26 at 7:00 p.m. in the Alex G. Spanos Center.
