SAN DIEGO - AZTEC WOMEN'S TENNIS DEFEATS BOISE STATE, 8-1
The No. 25 San Diego State women's tennis team(7-4 overall 1-1 WAC) defeated Boise State(3-6 overall), 8-1 today at the SDSU E. Courts.
The Aztecs won five of its singles matches in straight sets to secure the win. Playing No. 1 for the Aztecs, senior Sarah Donovan defeated PiaLena Ander 6-2,4-6,7-5. Donovan has won five out of her last six matches. Senior Maggie Cole playing at the No. 2 spot defeated Beau Jones 6-2, 6-0.
Doubles duo Cole/Donovan defeated Ander/Jones 8-4 for their eighth win of the season at the No.1 spot. Laura Aguero and Julie Chidley defeated Jemima Attard and Laurie Cheung 8-1 at the No. 3 spot for the Aztecs.
The Aztecs will travel to Utah to take on BYU this Saturday. They will return home to play the University of Tulsa on March 9 at 2 p.m. at the SDSU East Courts.
