SAN DIEGO - AZTEC WOMEN'S GOLFERS TAKE THIRD IN BAY AREA CLASSIC
The San Diego State University women's golf team placed third in the 3rd Annual Bay Area Classic with a overall score of 617. Pepperdine University held on to its lead from yesterday to win today with a score of 587. The two-day 18 hole course was held at the Blue Rock Springs Golf Course in Vallejo, Calif.
Top golfer for the Aztecs was sophomore Jo Clingan who finished the day with a 77-77(154) overall score and tied for 12th place. Tied for 16th place were Hiroko Fukushima(79-76), Heather Rollo(80-75) and Nikki Stangarone(83-72) all with an overall 155.Senior Nikki Chigas finished with a 81-77(158). Four out of the five SDSU golfers finished in the top 20.
The Aztecs will return home to host the Lady Aztec Invitational on March 29-30.
