Aztec Women's Golfers Place Ninth in Peg Barnard Classic

AZTEC WOMEN'S GOLFERS PLACE NINTH IN PEG BARNARD CLASSIC

The No. 25-ranked San Diego State University women's golf team finished ninth out of 12 teams, scoring a 315-324 (639) overall this weekend at the Peg Barnard California Collegiate Classic. This two-day classic was held at the Stanford Golf Course in Palo Alto, Calif which is a par 72, 6,154 yard course.

Top golfer for SDSU was freshman Hiroko Fukushima who tied for eighth place finishing with a 76-77 (153) overall score. Sophomore Joanne Clingan tied for 12th place with an overall score of 79-77 (156). Finishing with an overall score 77-81 (158) Sophomore Nikki Stangarone tied for 25th place.

This was the last regular season tournament, the Aztecs will return to action on Monday April 19th through the 21st at the WAC Championships in Monterey, Calif.
