RANCHO SANTA FE, Calif.- The San Diego State women’s golf team kicked off their spring season with a dual match against Long Beach State Monday. The Aztecs shot a 17-over-par 305, finishing three strokes behind Long Beach State.
SDSU was led by the trio of Kylie Phi, Stephanie Barbaglia and Ema Narita who all finished with a two-over-par 74.
Phi finished with a team-high five birdies while Barbaglia finished strong, finishing four-under-par across the final 12 holes. Narita led the Aztecs with an even-par 36 on the front nine
Maya Benita, who was playing as an individual, carded an eight-over-par 80 in her SDSU debut.
Nikki Kato finished with an 83, while the freshmen duo of Emilia Omander and Emma Delwes each shot an 85.
Long Beach State’s Jasmine Leovao led the way with an even par 72.
