BOISE, Idaho -- Jillian Celis homered and had a career-high five RBIs to lead the San Diego State softball team to a 10-1, run-rule victory in six innings Saturday afternoon at Dona Larsen Park in Boise, Idaho. The Aztecs (32-12, 16-5 MW) clinched the series with the win and are now in sole possession of first place in the Mountain West standings, one game ahead of the Broncos (28-14, 13-4 MW).
SDSU outhit BS, 13-4, including solo home runs by Macey Keester and AJ Murphy. Through two games in the series, San Diego State is outhitting the league's top offense, 24-11.
The Aztecs scored two runs in the top of the second, four in the fourth with two outs and four more in the sixth. Boise State's lone run came on a SDSU error in the fifth.
Celis had a three-run home run in the fourth and a two-run single in the sixth. Keester hit a two-out solo homer in the fourth, the first of her career, and Murphy had an RBI single in the second and a solo home run in the sixth.
Cali Decker had three hits, Jeweliana Perez added two RBI singles and a run, and Mac Barbara and Bella Espinoza each singled and walked.
Allie Light picked up the win in the circle for San Diego State, allowing one unearned run on four hits and no walks over five innings, while striking out two. Sarah Lehman retired the Broncos in order in the sixth, ending the game with a strikeout.
THE NOTE
The Aztecs won their 70th straight game when scoring at least 10 runs (6-0 this season).
THE NOTE II
SDSU handed Boise State its first run-rule loss in a conference game since a 9-0, five-inning defeat to UNLV on April 1, 2022.

San Diego State, which came into the weekend averaging 0.45 home runs per game, has five in two games so far this weekend, including one apiece by Mac Barbara, Jillian Celis, Macey Keester, AJ Murphy and Jeweliana Perez.
