SAN DIEGO - Following the team’s trip to Los Angeles, Aztec Women’s Tennis returns home this weekend to face the Cal Poly Mustangs and California Golden Bears in dual matches on Saturday and Sunday, respectively. First serve is set for noon each day at the Aztec Tennis Center.
The Mustangs most recently participated in the Cal Winter Invitational, where they faced a handful of California teams including Cal, Fresno State and Saint Mary’s. Cal Poly’s visit to SDSU this weekend marks its first dual match of the regular season.
The No. 8 Golden Bears are currently unbeaten at 2-0 on the season and boast five members ranked Oracle/ITA singles poll (Jan. 4). Cal will face off against No. 4 Pepperdine Friday prior to heading south to America’s Finest City.
With a 2-2 record, the Aztecs look to have a successful weekend following a tough 7-0 loss to No. 22 USC on Wednesday. Following the duo of matchups this weekend, SDSU travels to Moraga, Calif., to face Washington and Saint Mary’s, Feb. 11-12.
