SAN DIEGO - Tickets are still available for the San Diego State women's basketball team's game this Wednesday evening against UNLV at 7 p.m. PT at Cox Arena. A special MWC Weeknight Meal Deal can be purchased for just $6 and includes a 20-ounce soda, hot dog and chips at the game.
At halftime of Wednesday's contest, the NCAA is sponsoring the 2009 Pinnacle of Fitness challenge program. San Diego is one of nine cities throughout the country that will play host to the event, which involves students from local middle schools competing in progressive on-court competitions.
The challenge is also scheduled to to place with different schools at the Aztecs' game with TCU on Feb. 28, as well as the NCAA first and second rounds at Cox Arena on March 21 and 23.
The winning middle school from each region will be awarded the opportunity to compete in the NCAA National Pinnacle of Fitness challenge on center court at NCAA Hoop City® Refreshed by Coca-Cola® during the 2009 Women's Final Four in St. Louis, Mo., April 5 and 7. There, one middle school will be named the 2009 Pinnacle of Fitness challenge champion.
The Aztecs, who are tied for second in the Mountain West Conference, are finishing out the first round of league action vs. the Lady Rebels.
