SAN DIEGO - San Diego State head football coach Chuck Long announced Wednesday afternoon the addition of four players to the team's roster for 2007 fall camp, which officially opens this Friday. The group includes three transfers in former Ohio State defensive lineman Ryan Williams (Mission Viejo, Calif.) and junior college offensive linemen Damian Shankle (Aliso Viejo, Calif.) and Daniel Tufele (San Diego, Calif.) and one true freshman in defensive back Romeo Horn (Fresno, Calif.).

Williams, a 6-6, 245-pound defensive end, spent two years at Ohio State, redshirting his first season before appearing in two contests as a freshman in 2006. Williams played his high school football at Mission Viejo High School in Mission Viejo, Calif., where he led the Diablos to a perfect 14-0 record, a CIF title and a No. 3 national ranking by USA Today in 2004. He was rated the 12th-best defensive end in the country by Rivals.com and the No. 27 recruit in the state of California as a prep.

Williams has two years of eligibility remaining and will be able to play for SDSU beginning with the 2008 season.

Shankle played two years at Saddleback College in Mission Viejo, Calif., garnering first-team all-conference accolades at center this past season. The Gauchos were ranked third nationally by J.C. Grid-Wire, compiling an 11-1 record in 2006, with their only loss coming to eventual state champion El Camino College. The 6-2, 310-pound Aliso Niguel High School product was also an honorable mention All-American by J.C. Grid-Wire his second season at Saddleback.

Tufele attended nearby Grossmont College, after starting three years at Morse High School. The 6-3, 310 lineman was a second team all-league pick this past season for the 10-2 Griffins, who claimed their fourth-straight Foothill Conference title.

Horn, who along with Williams signed an athletic offer of aid with SDSU, graduated from Edison High School in Fresno, Calif., this past June. The 6-1, 185-pound safety was rated as one of the top 20 at his position in California by Scout.com.
