SAN DIEGO - 2006-07 SDSU Men's Basketball Schedule
The Mountain West Conference announced the San Diego State men's basketball television schedule for the 2006-07 season. Nineteen games are slated to appear on Versus, CSTV and the mtn., including 15 of the Aztecs' 16 conference games. Of the seven MWC games televised on Versus, four will showcase San Diego State.
SDSU's first two television appearances of the season will come at Cox Arena beginning with the Aztecs' game vs. UC San Diego, Nov. 15, at 7 p.m. PST on the mtn. Three days later on Nov. 18, SDSU and California will tangle on Versus with a scheduled tip-off at 4:30 p.m. PST.
Both home games against Loyola Marymount (Dec. 16) and Lafayette (Dec. 30) will be aired on the mtn. at 7 p.m. PST to close out the non-conference portion of the schedule.
After opening up the conference season against Wyoming on Jan. 3, SDSU will play 15 consecutive games on television. The first will pit the Aztecs against Brigham Young in Provo, Utah, at 3:30 p.m. MST on Versus. Other San Diego State games set for Versus are the Jan. 20 game against Air Force at 3 p.m. MST and the Aztecs' 7:30 p.m. PST contest at UNLV on Jan. 23.
SDSU will appear on CSTV four times, all home games, in 2007 starting with its game against Colorado State, Jan. 13, inside Cox Arena at 1 p.m. PST. The other three times will be when Utah (Jan. 27), Air Force (Feb. 6) and BYU (Feb. 24) visit Montezuma Mesa.
The remaining eight league games will be broadcast by the mtn., including both New Mexico (Jan. 17 and Feb. 20) and TCU (Jan. 31 and March 3) contests. Other games to be shown by the mtn. are SDSU's games at CSU (Feb. 10), vs. UNLV (Feb. 13), at Wyoming (Feb. 17) and at Utah (Feb. 27).
Those games not scheduled to be televised at this time still have the opportunity to be picked up by a network at a later date.
In other scheduling news, San Diego State will kick off the 2006-07 campaign on Nov. 10 with 2006 NCAA Tournament participant and Ohio Valley Conference champion Murray State at 5 p.m. PST at the three-day Shamrock Invitational in Moraga, Calif. The following day, the Aztecs will face host school Saint Mary's at 7:30 p.m. PST. SDSU will close out the weekend against Seattle Pacific at 5 p.m. PST on Sunday, Nov. 12.
